What to do when Google AdSense Ad Serving Gets Disabled on your Website

Adsense is the most used way of monetizing websites and blogs across world. There are many people who make over 100USD per day with Adsense alone. Now, its significant amount of money so you should take it very seriously and keep yourself updated with the new policies and restrictions that are introduced by Adsense. A good way of keeping updated is to follow the adsense official blog and the adsense program policy page..

However, it is still possible that you may still get a notice from Adsense Team about a violation. This happens only when somebody complains to Adsense Team about a violation on your website. It could be due to copyrights issue, ad placement issue, content issue, or even an issue with adult/abusive language used in comments on your blog/forum etc etc. You may not be directly responsible or you may not have violated adsense policy delibrately but still the responsibility is with you to keep your website clean and compliant with the terms of adsense…

In severe cases, your website may get banned without prior notice. Usually this happens in case someone send DMCA complaint to google about your website or if the content of your website is not suitable for all audiences or if contains maximum of duplicate content that has no value or if you indulge in invalid activities like clicking your own adsense links.

However, most of the people will first receive a notice from adsense team giving you a chance to make changes to your website. They usually give 3 days to make the required changes and if you fail to make changes as per adsense team’s satisfaction then ads are disabled on your website.

Now, when you receive the notice email from adsense team informing you about a violation, the first thing you need to do is calm down and digest the NEWS! . In most of the cases its possible to rectify the situation.. Now read the email you received few times and try to understand what went wrong.. The Email typically reads like:

While reviewing your account, we noticed that you are currently displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our policies. For instance, we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as http:// YOUR WEBSITE’s URL/. Please note that this URL is an example and that the same violations may exist on other pages of your website.

As stated in our program policies, publishers are not permitted to REASON WHY YOUR WEBSITE IS VIOLATING TERMS

Please make any necessary changes to your webpages in the next 72 hours.

In the email above, pay attention to the URL provided and the reason given. The reason provided may not be very specific and very obvious. So, if you fail to understand, then you can post a message with complete email text you received from adsense team on adsense help forum. There are many adsense publishers on this forum that may help you understand the reason why your website received that warning. The most authentic information comes from people that are labeled as “Top Contributors”. However, note that even they are not adsense employees and so they don’t have access to see your account and find the problem themselves. These people are like normal adsense publishers but they do have lots of experience and so can guide you. Also, they have the ability to ask AdSense Pros to take a look. Usually you will receive a reply from them quite quickly as compared to reply you would have received from adsense team if you decide to contact the adsense support instead.

Once you understand the reason why you received the notice, its time to make changes to your website. Take no chances and correct your website completely. If you feel that there could have been more issues, then fix them all. Now show the website aagin to Top Contributers on the forum. If they don’t find any more errors, then just wait for 3 days to pass and see what happens at the end of 72 hours. If nothing happens and your ads remain intact, then there is nothing to worry now. But this does not mean that you roll back the changes..

However, if at the end of 72 hours you receive another email informing that Google AdSense ad serving has been disabled to your site, then again check with Top Contributers again. Please note that ads don’t stop appearing immediately after you have received this email from adsense team. It usually takes 24 hours for ads to stop appearing on your websites after they have emailed you about disabling the adserving on your website. So, don’t feel that they have forgotten to impliment the restriction. It just takes little time.

Further, contact adsense support to know about the specific policy violation on your website. Follow this link to contact them. Now, if you find more issues, fix them and then make a Policy Violation Appeal here. You are allowed to appeal only once and so, make sure to appeal only after you are 100% sure that you have corrected all the issues.

After, this all you can do is wait for them to reply. If they find that your website is now in compliance with adsense program policies, you’ll receive an email notification that ad serving will be re-enabled. If you receive this email, please allow up to 72 hours for ads to appear. If ads still don’t appear, post a message on adsense forum again..

As you can see its so much pain to get your account fixed once the problem starts, so its always better to keep your website compliant and follow all policies properly.
