‘Marry Me’ says Priyanka Chopra to Harman Baweja
Okay, so you have heard this one a million times before, but this time, it’s all the more exciting. Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja’s love story has been around for a while, never really shrouded, but not completely out in the open too. But now, it looks like wedding bells are almost set to ring!
A bird somewhere twittered that Priyanka Chopra a.k.a Piggy Chops has proposed marriage to her boyfriend, actor-in-the-making, Harman Baweja. According to rumour mills, Priyanka popped the question to Harman in the presence of friends, taking the guy by surprise. However, Harman seems to be apprehensive about tying the knot right now, and wants to wait till he has a fairly strong foothold in the industry.
Harman is making his debut opposite real-life love interest Priyanka Chopra in the futuristic film ‘Love Story 2050’. Directed by his father Harry Baweja, the film, which is complete with the best of SFX and graphics, is slated for an April 2008 release.
If nothing else, we at least now know that Priyanka and Harman are pretty serious about their relationship, and probably we don’t have to wait longer than next year to see if they would take the plunge or not!
Priyanka to play a duo “Love Story 2050″
Mumbai, Feb 3 : Priyanka Chopra to play a double role in her forthcoming movie with Rowena, producer-director Harry Baweja’s daughter, in “Love Story 2050″.
Priyanka Chopra plays a double role for the first time in the futuristic “Love Story 2050″ and the two characters are starkly different.
Rowena, who’s assisting her father on “Love Story 2050″, is effusive in her praise for Priyanka. The actress came to Baweja’s rescue when Kareena Kapoor walked out of the film, reports Bollywood Trade. “Priyanka was elated and she jumped at the offer.
It was a challenging role for her since her character goes through a spectrum of changes. The audience will get to see two very different sides of her personality in the film. She has pulled off both the characters with 鬡n,” said Rowena. Priyanka’s get-ups are diametrically different in the film. “One part has her playing a mellow, coy, next door kind of girl while the other one is very outlandish, loud and headstrong. She’s brilliant in both of them and I am sure her fans will love it.” Shot in Adelaide, South Australia, the film, which is loosely based on H.G. Wells’ “Time Machine”, is a futuristic science fiction loaded with special effects. “It’s a sci-fi love story that travels through time. As the title implies, the film is set in ‘present’ and ‘future’. It is a romantic love story blended with science fiction and this unique combination of both the genres is the USP of the film.
“It’s the first of its kind probably,” said Rowena, adding, “A lot of computer graphics will be used to create Mumbai 2050. Oscar winner John Cox has worked on the animatronic robot Boo that we have used in the film.” Rowena elucidated the need for the robot in the film. “Boo is Priyanka’s companion in the film. He is her pet who talks to her, who does everything a human being can and who is someone every girl dreams of having.” Her brother Harman makes his debut with the sci-fi movie. “Harman too has an interesting character to play. We have carefully outlined his role and hopefully the audience will connect with his character in the first 10 minutes itself,” she said. Rowena says it’s her most exciting experience to date. Seventy percent of the shooting is complete and they are tentatively planning to release it in August. “Very few have dealt with romantic sci-fi films. There’s so much to explore when you’re making a futuristic film. We are slogging really hard and I sincerely hope people enjoy watching it as much as we did making it. I am sure people would be curious to know how Mumbai would look in 2050.” Rowena admits that the film got delayed for various reasons but refuses to divulge the details. The background music has been scored by Salim-Suleiman along with Anu Malik, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar.
Multi-starrer “Salaam-E-Ishq” releasing on 25 Jan
New Delhi, Jan 24 : Nikhil Advani is ready with his next film, a multi-starrer, with six romances, and probably one among the hits of this year, “Salaam-E-Ishq: A Tribute To Love”. It would be releasing this Thursday 25 Jan.
Love stories are a staple in Bollywood. After “Kal Ho Naa Ho”, Nikhil Advani comes up with not one but six romances in his mega multistarrer “Salaam-E-Ishq: A Tribute To Love” that releases Friday.
The film’s ensemble cast comprises Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, Akshaye Khanna, Ayesha Takia, Govinda, John Abraham, Vidya Balan, Sohail Khan, Isha Koppikar and Shannon Esra in lead roles.
The movie weaves six love stories together.
Kamini (Priyanka Chopra), a sought after item girl in Bollywood, is desperately looking for a big break. But nothing seems to be happening so she hatches a plan to change her image. The only thing she does not anticipate is the arrival of Rahul (Salman Khan) in her life.
Vinay Malhotra (Anil Kapoor) leads a picture perfect life with his picture perfect wife Seema (Juhi Chawla) and daughters in the suburbs of London. He works with a PR firm and returns home to his wife and daughters. But things change after he bumps into the not so perfect Anjali (Anjana Sukhani). Unconventional and over-confident Anjali comes from a world where single modern girls get what they want. And Anjali wants Vinay.
Shiven (Akshaye Khanna), a consummate bachelor who lives in New Delhi, is engaged to Gia (Ayesha Takia) and is going to get married very soon. But he gets cold feet days before the wedding and breaks off the engagement. It is only later that he realises that he is incomplete without her.
Tehzeeb’s (Vidya) and Ashutosh (John) eloped and got married two years ago. Struggling like all young married couples in Mumbai, both of them work at a news channel. Tehzeeb is a reporter and Ashutosh a film editor. Completely crazy about each other, they find it quite difficult to keep their hands off each other. But things change when Tehzeeb meets with an accident.
Raju (Govinda) is a taxi driver in Delhi. He drives from his home in Chandni Chowk to the New Delhi International Airport like he has for the last 15 years. He enjoys watching the doors of the New Delhi International Airport opening and closing because he hopes to meet his dream girl there.
And Stephanie (Shannon Esra) does come from those very doors-the only problem is that she has come looking for her boyfriend Rohit Chaddha (Kushaal Punjabi) and not Raju.
Ramdayal (Sohail) and Phoolwati (Isha) are newly-weds in Haryana. Ramdayal wants to consummate their marriage but whenever he tries to fulfil his desire, something goes wrong. Both of them land up in a series of events that become tragically and comically fatal.
“Salaam-e-Ishq” will be released with 1,100 prints worldwide. The film’s music is doing well, but so far not a single episodic film has done well.
